Great acting by everyone
After the disappointing fourth season of Jack Ryan and the lackluster performances throughout the series, this was much better in every way. It looks really good and the action and fight scenes are great. I feel like most of the criticism of this show in the comments comes down to how unrealistic it is because of the whole cameraman thing, and I for one have nothing against a good female-led action series, it’s an original IP that doesn’t turn the leading man into the leading woman.
I also haven’t seen any red flags so far like every man looks incompetent or anything like that
Also, at first I thought it was going to be more of a mindless action show, but then they went a bit deeper into the family and I usually cringe at that, but I didn’t like what they did there. My only criticism is that the plot of what this particular team is doing is very limiting and could kill the story, aside from the season/villain storyline… it needs to be more encompassing so they can eventually create a new one that’s more intense than Homeland, otherwise it could become too episodic like The Blacklist.
It’ll be interesting to see what the great Morgan Freeman brings to the show
PS: Nicole Kidman’s role so far is incredibly small and uneventful and could have been played by anyone else… But from what I’ve seen so far, the show can do just fine with Zaldan without another A-Lister. TLDR Overall Cautiously optimistic, but I like it from what I’ve seen so far, everything is incredibly polished and well done.
